Domestic construction machinery accelerates its overseas expansion: shifting from single machine export to comprehensive solution output
In the first half of 2026, China's construction machinery exports will continue to maintain a growth trend. Industry export data shows that overseas markets have become an important supporting sector for the growth of domestic construction machinery enterprises. The development model of the industry has also changed, and enterprises are gradually shifting from simply selling single machine equipment to comprehensive solutions that include output equipment, operation and maintenance, and charging support.
XCMG, Sany, Zoomlion, LiuGong and other enterprises have frequent operations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Enterprises are no longer just selling domestic models directly overseas, but are readjusting the overall structure, cooling system, and power matching for local conditions such as high temperature, high dust, high humidity, and high altitude. Enhanced high-temperature and dust-proof design for equipment in the Middle East region; Southeast Asia optimizes tracks and protective structures for rainforest environments; The European and American markets focus on meeting local emissions and safety regulations.
In terms of new energy equipment going global, in addition to selling electric loaders and electric excavators, enterprises also provide supporting suggestions such as charging station planning, battery operation and maintenance, battery recycling, etc., to help overseas customers solve the problem of supporting the use of new energy equipment. Localization construction is being promoted simultaneously, with overseas factory construction, local recruitment of employees, construction of spare parts warehouses, and training of local maintenance technicians to reduce logistics and service response time.
At the same time, going global also faces multiple challenges, as different countries' trade policies, green trade barriers, spare parts logistics cycles, and differences in technical standards all require enterprises to address them one by one. In the future, the competition for domestic construction machinery going global will test the comprehensive strength of enterprises in localized operation, technology adaptation, and full life cycle services. Overseas markets will also continue to be an important source of incremental development for the industry.
